The DirectTrace Pipeline has been designed to be as flexible as possible, and provide a solution to most rendering problems that require geometric intersection algorithms and pixel samplers. The streaming of the scene is OpenGL alike and communication capabilities between OpenGL and DirectTrace are provided. As such, it minimizes the cost for the developer for writing and porting 3D applications, and at the same time, provides a simpler gestion of resources.
The entire pipeline is designed to be very efficient. However, some features more oriented toward large applications, will provide more reliability and flexibility, at the expense of efficiency. Check the compatibility grid to know more about the status of various functionalities.
